The interview panel of ainaeabsaar.com got an opportunity to interview the honourable parliamentary state secretary at the federal minister for special tasks, Germany,H.E. Michael Meister in Bensheim, Hessen.
For this newly launched four languages online page, this was the first opportunity and was an ice breaker.
Actually, there was no ice at all. Rather it was a constant flow of conversation and ideas.
First question was about the prospects and possibilities that how much governance and transparency is transferable to third world developing countries from Germany.
The answer was, that,
We in Germany have a governance and political development history of about 2000 years and we have developed this from our Christian values which go back two thousand years back in the history. So this origin may be an immovable asset but its values, like transparency, public participatory approach in politics and social participatory model for development are the fruits and outcomes of this value system which you witness today in our society.
So these political and social ethics are the common heritage of humanity and we accept and fully acknowledge that if it is applicable in other developing countries and nations, they can try it.
Second question was about offering this socio/political developments model as case study in university level research projects.
H.E. responded that this is good idea and such intellectual exchange projects may help in sustainable development through academia.
Third question was extension of the same that to achieve this goal, how do u think that students exchange programs can speedup this process and how we can promote it in our educational institutions here in Germany and in countries like Pakistan, where tellant and capacity is facing dead end street situation at institutional level?
H.E Michael Meister said, that it is quit possible and i would go a step further. I suggest that this activity should be patronized by governments and i would welcome such treaties at governmental level. Even if some funding is required to continue such initiatives, i think that is justified. I agree that future generation should be given opportunities to learn and exchange their ideas and to achieve this goal, the governments should come forward and sign treaties to develop strategies for univercities and other academic institutions.
Last question was about integration of refugees so that a sense of ownership and participation could be developed in new comers.
The response was, that until it is decided that they are now citizens of Germany, there comes an interim period which is some times long. Our responsibility actually, comes after the positive decision is made. Once it is settled, then our social system adopts every option to integrate them in mainstream of society.
Individual freedom is one of main traits of our value system and there is no discrimination in any sphere of socio/ political development in our society. And this makes our system sustainable and durable for our people.
